DRYING THE WOOD CHIP

PELLET PRODUCTION

The start of our wood pellet production begins with producing wood chip. This is done in our own facility, housed on site to ensure the carbon footprint of our process is kept to a minimum. The wood chip is produced from pallets which have come to the end of their useful life and wood from recycle centres in and around Wales.

The next step in our process is to dry the wood chip. This is again undertaken on our site, the wood chip is moved 200 metres to our two drying floors, where it is kept at a temperature of 40 degrees for a period of 24 hours to remove moisture.

The final phase of production is to produce the wood pellets. The dried wood chip is loaded into our wood pellet plant, which is right next door to the drying floors. The pellet plant then converts the wood chip into the correct grade of sawdust for extrusion through our pellet press to produce high quality 6mm wood pellets. These can then be packaged either in bulk bags or individually into 15Kg bags.
